SOUTH AFRICA – Self-proclaimed Queen of Gqom, Babes Wodumo has said she is not eager to get into another relationship while she continues to mourn her husband, the late Big Nuz frontman Mampintsha.

Mampintsha died in December 2022 after succumbing to a stroke.

This week, Wodumo went on an Instagram live wearing lace undies and a swimsuit top with a man next to her, sparking rumours of a new romance.

However, the musician was at pains to point out that she was still loyal to her late husband.

“Bayasangana (they are mad), I’m not dating him. We are friends and he is gay. I was married to Mampintsha; he was my husband; I can’t just date for the sake of dating. There are certain things I need to do and announce to my family before that,” she said.

Wodumo was recently linked to former Amaroto group member Zuma. According to a close friend who spoke to Zimoja, Zuma’s promiscuity led to an early end to the budding romance.

“It did not last,’ the friend told ZiMoja. “He had multiple girls, so that was never going to work. Babes is a loyal hun.”

Meanwhile, Babes denied dating Zuma. “He is my brother that one. People will always have something to say about me; I am used to it. I’m a star,” she bragged.
