The former opposition Member of Parliament for Glen View, Paul Madzore, is mourning the death of his 17-year-old son, Paul Madzore Junior, who died at Parirenyatwa Hospital on Tuesday around 4pm.

In an interview with Nehanda Radio, Solomon Madzore, former MP for Dzivarasekwa and brother to Paul said “Junior was 17 and doing his Form 4 at Mufakose High in Harare. He had a running stomach for about three weeks”

“Paul senior then took him to Parirenyatwa Hospital where he was being attended to until his time of death. The nurses and doctors at Parirenyatwa did their best to render medical intervention as best they could but I guess God had other plans.

“Paul junior succumbed to what seemed to be a difficulty in breathing and a serious level of dehydration due to loss of fluids when he had an incessant running stomach.

“We tried providing blood as was advised by doctors attending to him as well as other drugs but that didn’t help. We eventually lost the boy. It’s painful. Paul senior is a strong man but I could tell the man was and still is in pain over the loss. We however received lots of support from friends and relatives,” Solomon told Nehanda Radio.

Meanwhile Solomon Madzore has also issued the following statement saying “The Madzore family is thankful to the MDC T where Paul Madzore senior now belongs, the PDP party, where I am the National Organising Secretary and the People First for their solidarity. Indeed the pain, our pain was eased by them.

He described the whole funeral as “an exhibition of love and camaraderie” from members of the different political parties that came. Madzore acknowledged the presence of MDC-T Vice President Nelson Chamisa who represented MDC-T president Morgan Tsvangirai.
