Lady Storm, who attracted national prominence after she featured on Jah Prayzah’s video for the hit Eriza, says she will no longer appear on another artiste’s video.
The feisty musician, whose debut album is titled Ndisvikewo, told the Daily News appearing on other artistes’ videos will make people view her as a mere dancer.
“I am an all-rounder who can compose, sing and dance. Featuring on other artistes’ videos will paint a wrong picture of me being a mere dancer,” said Lady Storm, who was born Lyn Magodo.
The 22-year-old ex-soldier added that she has turned down several invitations to appear on videos since her highly-publicised appearance on Jah Prayzah’s video.
“I cannot disclose their names for professional reasons but I am under pressure from different artistes who are after my services,” she said, adding that she is determined to showcase more her all-round abilities.
“I sing very well and I think I am equal to the task. Fans love me because I neither showcase dirty or raunchy dances nor strip acts,” said Lady Storm, who resigned from the army on medical grounds.
The bubbly artiste, who is set to collaborate with Botswana songstress Slizer, is happy with the inroads her album is making.
“I believe my video is one of the best in the country and I am happy that fans are finally embracing it,” she said on the sidelines of the Monday Jam Session hosted by City Sports Bar where she shared the stage with Steven Dhibhura, Tendai Chimombe, Juntal, Franco Slomo, Papa Sodza, Gary Tight and Nyasha Mugari among others.
At the City Sports Bar gig, Lady Storm somewhat played second fiddle to young Dhibhura, a form one student, who was the crowd’s darling thanks to an animated performance. Daily News
