It is sad that you have been thrown behind bars, detained and incarcerated not by Ian Douglas Smith anymore but by the very African government which you fought for and put in power. The same leadership which you tirelessly fought for with hope and vision of a democratic country which respects the rule of law has finally betrayed you.

It breaks my heart seeing Robert Mugabe that academic who can’t even operate a pistol enslaving you the real fighters who sacrificed their lives in trenches fighting against colonialism. But today your fellow Comrade Robert Gabriel Mugabe has finally turned against you simply because of his insatiable greed for power.

Yes you are behind bars but in my eyes you are a free man. Free because you can express yourself without fear of victimization. Free because you are not afraid of this oppressor and you are speaking the truth to power despite of all this intimidation and persecution.

You are free because you have the guts to call a spade a spade. Am glad you are not in servitude like Saviour Kasukuwere, the stupid Professor Jonathan Moyo, Ignatious Chombo only to mention a few of educated men and woman who are doing nothing for the country other than singing for their supper and rushing to inhale when Robert Mugabe puffs.

You fought for this country so that you can have these very rights which Mugabe is now depriving you. You have the right to express yourself just like any other citizen out there and telling Mugabe to step down is not a crime.

Yes he must step down that’s very correct he is the reason why millions of Zimbabweans are suffering due to his misrule. Comrade Mahiya, President Mugabe has lost focus and he is nothing other than the worst embarrassment this country has ever had.

I fled Zimbabwe when Mugabe set his Gestapo on me after I sent him a prison garb marked ‘Crimes Against Humanity’ on his birthday and a video message telling him that he must be sent to the Hague to answer for crimes against humanity.

I was accused of undermining the authority of the President as if it’s a lie that he killed thousands of innocent civilians. You know what Cde Mahiya ‘just like apartheid President P.W Botha ask Mugabe a question he will respond to you with a sjambok’.

Am glad you stood your ground and told him the truth. That was excellent, many of your fellow former freedom fighters (war vets) reduced themselves to be Mugabe’s stooges rather than men and women who can stand up to protect genuine national interests not ZANU PF partisan and greedy interests.

They are trying to intimidate you and other war vets never to stand up and tell Mugabe the truth. But Comrade I know you are a fighter and you went through a lot in the liberation struggle so please don’t look back.

Sail ahead no matter what, Mugabe has overstayed his welcome and there is a need to re-liberate Zimbabwe from his tyranny. Mugabe is afraid of you guys because he knows you have the capacity and a track record of removing dictators just like what you did to Ian Douglas Smith.

I just want to encourage you Cde Mahiya, my heart bleeds to see a respectable veteran of your age being thrown behind bars because you just asked the President to be accountable. But this is not the end rather this is the beginning of a people’s revolution which will leave Robert Mugabe and his monkeys in the dustbins of history.

I will be returning to Zimbabwe to join you all in this fight for a new and a democratic Zimbabwe. I know they might kill me but they can’t kill us all, they can arrest me but they can’t arrest us all and they can try to instil fear in us but we are no longer afraid of them. No army is stronger than an idea whose time has come.

Revolutionary hug baba.

Ichoo!!!

Your Fellow Cde

By Tafi Mhaka Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans (ZNLWVA) spokesperson Douglas Mahiya’s had a busy year attempting to depict Zanu-PF ineptitude as the express result of economic sanctions imposed by western powers. Worryingly, Mahiya is threatening to go to war against the MDC Alliance and “whites”, as they are allegedly responsible for wrecking Zimbabwe’s economy. Yet, back in 1997, when war veterans took to the streets to demand the government improve their living conditions and pay substantial gratuities for participating in the 1970s war of independence, they actually understood who was responsible for their abject poverty: Zanu-PF’s leadership.
