The rapper who goes by the name “The Game” was arrested in connection with a violent incident involving an off-duty police officer at a pickup basketball game in March.

Los Angeles police Officer Mike Lopez says the 35-year-old hip-hop artist, whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor, surrendered, at the department’s Hollywood Division at noon Monday.
The rapper is accused of throwing a punch at the officer. The incident was caught on video and posted online by TMZ.
Lopez says the performer was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats. He posted $50,000 bail about an hour later.
Why the delay between the alleged incident and his arrest? No one is saying, and attorneys for The Game did not immediately return calls or emails seeking comment Tuesday morning.
But The Game posted some jokey comments on Instagram and Twitter:
#ManCrushMonday fresh outta jail, couldn’t wait to get home shower & get back in my gym. #WinnersCircle https://t.co/WmaBOHJW3c
— LA Confidential (@thegame) June 9, 2015
Then he got more serious (and a lot more profane) on his Instagram page on Tuesday. Read it with fair warning but here’s the relevant opening line:
“Wanted to take time today to shout out my real fans & thank you for the continuous support. I love y’all to death…” AP
