Usuthu registered their first win of the season in the last 16, when they came from two goals down to beat Bloemfontein Celtic 3-2 and progress to the quarter-finals.

They have yet to win the league and Nyadombo is happy to use the break to re-align their focus, as recent cup success could be a distraction to their Premiership ambitions.

“After our win against Celtic, I think we need a break because we have to regroup and study our errors so that we come back a better side,” said the Usuthu skipper.

“We sat down with the guys and said no matter how hard Celtic comes on us, we need to keep going and search for a win – fortunately, we won.

“We’re eager to fight and die for the team, we have the energy and I believe we need to work extra harder. Sometimes you need luck in football and that’s why we need to work hard and hopefully things will change for us.”

AmaZulu have been drawn against Mamelodi Sundowns for the last eight of the TKO, but will face Chippa United at home before in the league next weekend. Sport24.co.za
