BULAWAYO – There is no verse in the Bible that says it is morally unclean for a woman to marry a man who has refused to give his life to Jesus Christ as his personal saviour.
But a Bulawayo woman wants to dump her husband claiming he was a heathen after he refused to go to church to give his life to God. She said the relationship she was having with her husband makes a mockery of the sacred covenant of Christian marriage.
The woman, Thandolwenkosi Ncube, from Richmond suburb said it was better to get rid of her husband Ekhem Ncube who is not God fearing after he allegedly refused to give his life to the Almighty.
According to an affidavit which she filed at a Bulawayo court seeking a protection order against him, Thandolwenkosi said her husband was unfaithful, violent and psychologically abusive as well as disrespectful as he was stopping her from going to church.
She alleged that she felt trapped in her relationship with Ekhem and therefore needed God’s grace.
“I am customarily married to Ekhem and we have two children together. He is disrespecting the work of God that I am doing. He is not supporting me by going to church and he is always criticising everything I do about the church. He is also criticising my elderly pastors.
“He once left me to stay with another woman and now he is sick and wants to come with me yet he does not want to go to church. I do not want him back as he is not a born again and refusing to support our children by paying their school fees. I also want this court to stop him from calling my pastors and to come to my place of residence,” reads part of the affidavit.
The matter however, failed to sit last Friday and was postponed to another date by magistrate Marylene Mtshina who ordered the applicant to re-serve the respondent with the summons. B Metro
