The minister who was said to have been half way to Bulawayo had to turn back and rush to his Masvingo farm to attend to the scene. It is alleged that the minister lost all the irrigation equipment that was at his farm to thieves.

He confirmed the development but declined to shed more light on the issue saying the police were working on the case looking for the perpetrators.

“Yes there was a theft at the farm but let the police do their duty for now. They are already investigating the issue and we do not want to disturb them as of now,” Mavhaire is quoted as saying by the Sunday News.

There was not much sympathy for the minister on social media with many suggesting the thieves had merely stolen what Mavhaire had also stolen from the former white commercial farmer he evicted.
