HARARE – An unfortunate Dzivarasekwa man was fatally stabbed in a case of mistaken identity in Waterfalls on Wednesday night. Pfavhayo Zanoaba was stabbed with a knife in the chest and died on the spot.
His attacker Isaac Chirarai mistook him for his wife’s lover. Isaac is on the RUN as he fled the scene after the heinous act. Pfavhayo was spotted in the company of Isaac’s wife identified as Talent Dube.
Talent was employed by one Latina Sinetsi as a domestic worker in Waterfalls. It’s suspected Talent had a misunderstanding with her husband Isaac and Isaac stormed out of the house after he lied that he was going to the rural areas.
This was a well calculated move to ‘trap’ Talent whom he suspected of having an adulterous affair. The deceased Pfavhayo was dating Latina, Talent’s employer. And on the day he met his fate, he had visited his lover.
Talent was instructed to welcome Pfavhayo by her boss and she complied. Isaac, who was hiding, pounced on the two and assumed that the deceased was his wife’s lover. A scuffle ensued, narrated a source, and ended in Pfavhayo’s death.
Latina’s co-tenant, Grey Zhwakim said: “Talent works for Latina and she had a misunderstanding earlier with her husband Isaac. He then lied that he was done with her and was going to the rural areas. Latina instructed Talent to meet her boyfriend Pfavhayo and she complied and that is when the drama ensued.
Acting Provincial police spokesperson assistant inspector Tarirai Dube confirmed the incident. “The deceased Phavhayo Zanoaba was stabbed on his chest before he collapsed and died on the spot in Waterfalls,” said Dube.
“The deceased visited his girlfriend and while he was talking to one Talent Dube, who is Isaac’s wife, Isaac confronted him and fatally stabbed him. Isaac ran away from the scene after the incident,” said Dube. Residents thronged the place as they watched the lifeless body of Pfavhayo lying in a pool of blood.
