Castle Premiership giants Dynamos had beaten local rivals Highlanders in a challenge match at the weekend, setting up an explosive final with the South African Glamour Boys.

Yesterday a source within the organisers of the challenge match confirmed to H-Metro that they are now negotiating for another date. Dynamos, who are set to clash with Motor Action in a NetOne Charity Shield final on Sunday, will have to wait a little bit longer.

“The match will no longer be on March 27. We are negotiating for another date with Kaizer Chiefs,” said the source without elaborating. The weekend is part of the Fifa calendar and national teams will be involved in 2012 Nations Cup qualifiers across the continent.

Dynamos players Archford Gutu, Denver Mukamba, Gathrie Zhokinyu and Washington Arubi are all part of the Warriors’ provisional team. Kaizer Chiefs also have Knowledge Musona, Thomas Sweswe and Tinashe Nengomasha for the Warriors while a number of their South African stars will be with Bafana Bafana.

With Kaizer Chiefs chasing the Absa Premiership title at home, they will not want challenge matches to come in between the crucial run-in. As things stand, the intended challenge match against Dynamos will be staged during the South African off-season -either at the end of the current season or in the build-up to the 2011-12 season.
