Nigeria successfully defended their Unity Cup crown with a commanding 3-0 victory over Jamaica in the 2026 final at The Valley in London on Saturday evening.
The Super Eagles produced a polished display to secure back-to-back titles, combining attacking flair, defensive discipline and tactical control to underline their status as the tournament’s dominant force.

Midfielder Alhassan Yusuf starred with a brace, while Porto striker Terem Moffi added a third goal from a Femi Azeez cross to complete an emphatic victory over a Jamaican side hoping to avenge last year’s final defeat.
The triumph extended Nigeria’s impressive Unity Cup record and reinforced their reputation as the competition’s most successful team.

Following the victory, Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle thanked supporters while reflecting on recent disappointments in international football.
“My message to Nigeria is I want to say once again sorry because we didn’t qualify for the World Cup. Sorry we didn’t win the AFCON,” said Chelle.
“I try to do my job and I want to say thank you for the support that the fans showed the team. If I have some time, I will give everything for this national team. Football is football and every day I try to improve, like a man and like a coach. I would like to say thank you to this country.”
The final was a repeat of last year’s championship match, further strengthening the growing rivalry between Nigeria and Jamaica, which has become one of the tournament’s headline attractions.

Jamaica reached the final after defeating India in the semi-finals, while Nigeria booked their place with a convincing victory over Zimbabwe.
Earlier in the day, Zimbabwe secured third place after edging India 1-0 in the playoff match.

A first-half penalty from Prince Dube proved enough for the Warriors, who delivered a disciplined performance under interim coach Kaitano Tembo to end their campaign on a positive note.
India, making their Unity Cup debut, impressed many observers despite finishing fourth. The Blue Tigers gained valuable international experience against strong opposition and added a fresh dimension to the four-nation tournament.

Held at The Valley in Charlton, London, the 2026 Unity Cup brought together Nigeria, Jamaica, Zimbabwe and India in a celebration of football, culture and community.
Tournament organisers said more than 14,000 supporters attended across the three matchdays, highlighting the growing popularity of the competition among diaspora communities in the United Kingdom.
Nigeria leave London as deserved champions after an unbeaten campaign capped by a dominant final performance that showcased the quality, depth and ambition within Chelle’s squad.
