Zimbabwean striker Knowledge Musona might as well been called Professor Musona for the way he led his team Kaizer Chiefs to a 3-1 defeat of fierce rivals Orlando Pirates in South Africa’s Soweto derby on Saturday.
The striker plucked from the lower divisions of Zimbabwean football taught the Buccaneers a footballing lesson by creating the first goal and scoring the other two to send Chiefs fans into seventh heaven.
In the 6th minute of the game Musona stole the ball from the byline, dispossessing sloppy Pirates captain Lucky Lekgwathi, and his cross was rolled in for an own goal by unlucky Pirates defender Daine Klate.

In the 42nd minute Musona was in for the kill again, speeding past the ageing Lekgwathi, who tripped him in the penalty area. The referee pointed to the spot and Musona coolly converted his spot kick.
Musona’s second was a result of sloppy play by Rooi Mahamutsa, and the Zimbabwean chased his headed back pass, rounded Moeneeb Josephs and slotted the ball home. Pirates got a consolation through substitute Ezenwa Otorugu with 13 minutes left.
