Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Tinashe Nengomasha tells Football365.co.za he will forever cherish his tenure with the Soweto giants. The Zimbabwe international leaves on Saturday to join Qatar side Al Ahli Sports Club, who are currently training in France. Nengomasha, who made his debut for Amakhosi back in 2002 against AmaZulu, is leaving the Glamour Boys after eight years of service.
“I really enjoyed my time at Chiefs. It was good. I was treated well and I was always happy. But in life there is a time to move on to another challenge and I’m looking forward to my time in Qatar. I’m sad to leave Chiefs, but I hope my time in Qatar is going to be as good as it was at Chiefs.”
‘The General’ thanked Amakhosi’s management for their faith in him.
“They brought me here when I was an unknown and now that I’m leaving the team I will forever be grateful for the opportunity they gave me to establish myself in South Africa,” says Nengomasha, who joined Chiefs from Black Aces of Zimbabwe. Nengomasha is pleased with his years of service in the black and gold.
“I won many trophies during my time at Chiefs. It was good to play for a team that has so much ambition. I played about 250 games for Chiefs during my time here and I can say I always gave my best to the team and it helped me that I didn’t have any problems at the club. When you are happy you will always play to the best of your ability and this is what I experienced at Chiefs.”
Nengomasha’s parting words to the club’s supporters were: “I cannot forget to thank the supporters for all the support they showed me. I will miss them and I will miss the team. I’m sad to leave the team, but I take many good memories with me.” –Football365.co.za
