Zakaria did not seize Dembo instruments

HARARE – Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria said he was shocked by Innocent Mijuntu’s claims that he once seized Leonard Dembo’s instruments describing the claims as malicious.

This follows claims by Mijuntu that Zakaria capitalised on Dembo’s illness and seized his instruments and cars along with the late Madzibaba Nzira where Dembo was receiving faith healing. Zakaria descrided Mijuntu as misguided saying he has no right to comment on Dembo family issues.

“I don’t want to comment much on that since you have already run the story without talking to me. Izvozvi nyika yese irikutoti ndakatora ma-instruments aDembo. But what I say is that those are falsehoods and I don’t know where he is getting that.

“Besides, ini handitauri zvekumba kwevanhu, where does he get the authority to comment on issues to do with Dembo. If it was Mai Morgan who is saying that, it would have been better. In fact we were good friends with Dembo ndaitomuti munun’una and we still talk naMai Morgy,” Madzibaba said.

“I want you (reporter) and Mijuntu together so that we talk about this face to face,” he said.

Mijuntu told H Metro last week that Zakaria rose to fame after Dembo fell ill using Barura Express and not paying them well. Eunice Dembo, wife to the late Dembo, also opened up and said she will fight Mijuntu when they meet.

“Why is he commenting on those issues? Madzibaba Zakaria is not even involved in the disappearance of the kit asi iye. Akaenda negitare ndikanyarara, ainotora mari kuRTP, I remained quiet and now akuda kusimudzana nedzimwe, she said.

“I want him (Mijuntu), Madzibaba and you (reporter) to meet tione kuti anozvitaura here,” she fumed.

She however accepted that the kit was once kept at Madzibaba Nzira’s shrine as Mijuntu claimed but said it was not because of Zakaria. She said Madzibaba Nzira even failed to return one of the Kombis which was used to transport instruments until his death.
