Four CIO operatives on Tuesday visited the home of Shepherd Maisiri in Headlands, the scene of the gruesome death of his son, Christpower in a suspected arson attack. He will be buried on Thursday in Dzikiti village, his father confirmed.

Shepherd Maisiri told SW Radio Africa on Monday that his son was born in hiding “on a mountain” after his wife fled their homestead when it was burnt down in 2000. Maisiri is the local deputy organising secretary of the MDC-T in Headlands.

At mid day a call came through on my cell phone that a homestead of a Party activist had been attacked in the night and a child had died. When we had finished our meeting we decided to drive to the village to see if there was anything we could do or say.

Businessman Temba Mliswa was arrested following skirmishes where Hurungwe East legislator Sarah Mahoka was injured in an attack by youths while trying to address a meeting at Zimonja Business Centre in Zvipani.
