WASHINGTON – US President Donald Trump says he will not rule out sending American forces on the ground in Iran amid an ongoing US‑Israeli military campaign against the Iranian regime.
He described the situation as a “colossal threat” to the United States and said all options remain under consideration.
Trump also warned that the military operation could last five weeks or significantly longer, emphasizing the need to neutralize Iran’s missile and nuclear capabilities.
He stressed that the US is prepared to sustain the campaign until its objectives are achieved, while officials continue monitoring Iranian retaliation across the region.
“The regime’s conventional ballistic missile programme was growing rapidly and dramatically, and this posed a very clear, colossal threat to America and our forces stationed overseas” Trump said.
He added: “The regime already had missiles capable of hitting Europe and our bases, both local and overseas, and would soon have had missiles capable of reaching our beautiful America.”
The announcement comes as tensions escalate in the Middle East, with Iran launching missiles and drones at US and allied positions, raising concerns about the widening conflict and its potential impact on global security.
