Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is alive and unharmed following joint US-Israeli strikes targeting senior Iranian figures and military sites, a close aide has said.
Speaking anonymously to Anadolu on Sunday, the adviser said he remained in contact with Ahmadinejad and confirmed he was safe.
However, a building linked to his security detail was struck, killing three members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The source added that Ahmadinejad’s residence, located about 100 meters from the targeted building, was not hit.
Earlier reports had claimed the former president, who served from 2005 to 2013, was killed in the airstrikes.
