HARARE – The Zimbabwe national team coach Michael Nees has named his 24-man squad for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Namibia, which will take place in South Africa next week.

The back-to-back matches are slated for October 10 and 14 at Orlando Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg.

Nees made four changes to the squad that faced Kenya and Cameroon in the same competition last month.

Marvelous Nakamba has returned to the national team fold after missing last four games due to a knee injury.

French based Tino Kadewere and Mamelodi Sundowns left back Devine Lunga have also been recalled after being sidelined due to injuries.

Nees also called Dynamos goalkeeper Martin Mapisa and SuperSport United’s forward Terrence Dzvukamanja.

From the previous squad, the German tactician dropped the quartet of Andrew Mbeba, Donovan Bernard, Douglas Mapfumo and Obriel Chirinda.

All selected players are expected to report for camp in Johannesburg on Sunday.

The Warriors who have two points after playing goalless draws against Kenya and Cameroon last month, will be aiming to secure positive results against the Brave Warriors of Namibia.

This will improve their chances of qualifying for the AFCON finals set for December 2025 in Morocco.
