The Zimbabwe under-20 national team is scheduled to square off against the Zambia under-20 side in the semi finals of the AFCON | COSAFA qualifiers.
The crucial match that will determine who qualifies for the AFCON finals set for 2025, will take place on Thursday afternoon at Matola in Mozambique.
Kick off time at 3pm.
Zimbabwe topped Group A with seven points to reach the semis after beating hosts Mozambique 1-0, Eswatini 3-0 and drawing Botswana 1-1.
Speaking ahead of their semi final match before they knew their next opponent, the Young Warriors head coach Simon Marange said his boys are mentally prepared to face anytime.
“We are at a stage where we are mentally and physically ready to face anyone in the semis,” he said.
It will be a litmus test for Zimbabwe as they face a tricky Zambia who are the defending champions of the COSAFA U-20 Championship.
To reach the last four, Zambia defeated Namibia 2-1 and finished the group stage as best runner-up.
In the other semi-final, Angola will lock horns with South Africa on the same day but earlier at 12pm.
