The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has reported that approximately 18 people have died after a kombi caught fire along the Bulawayo–Beitbridge Road.

The incident occurred between Chipangali and the Gwanda tollgate between 1pm and 2pm on Thursday.

Authorities say the vehicle burst into flames, resulting in multiple fatalities. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed.

Police indicated that more information will be released as investigations continue.
