UK-based firm Diaspora Insurance has appointed Ugandan musician and actress Sheebah Karungi, popularly known as Queen Sheebah, as its new brand ambassador in a move aimed at strengthening ties with African diaspora communities around the world.
The company said the partnership reflects its broader strategy to expand engagement with Africans living abroad by leveraging influential cultural figures with global reach.
Queen Sheebah, one of East Africa’s most prominent music stars, is expected to front campaigns and community initiatives designed to promote awareness of insurance and financial services tailored to diaspora audiences.
Dr Edwin Tsvere, Channels Director at Diaspora Insurance, described the collaboration as a “significant milestone” for the company.
He said Queen Sheebah’s widespread appeal across Africa and among diaspora communities aligns closely with the firm’s mission to deliver accessible and reliable insurance solutions.
“Her strong connection with audiences across Africa and the diaspora aligns perfectly with our mission,” Tsvere said.
“Together, we aim to raise awareness about the importance of accessible, reliable insurance solutions tailored to the unique needs of our global community.”
Queen Sheebah said the partnership goes beyond commercial interests, highlighting its social impact.
“This collaboration is about more than just business—it’s about empowering our people to care for their families and secure their futures no matter where they are in the world,” she said.
Under the agreement, the Ugandan artist will feature in marketing campaigns, public events and outreach programmes aimed at bridging the gap between financial services and diaspora communities.
Headquartred in Birmingham, Diaspora Insurance specialises in bespoke insurance and financial products designed for Africans living abroad, enabling them to support families and assets in their home countries.
Queen Sheebah, a multi-award-winning performer with more than 100 hit songs and a global touring footprint spanning over 50 countries, is widely regarded as one of the most influential female entertainers in East Africa.
Alongside her music career, she is also recognised for her work in entrepreneurship, fashion, and philanthropy.
