HARARE – The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) president, Nqobile Magwizi, has revealed that the appointment of the new Warriors head coach will be announced early next week, either on Monday or Tuesday.

Speaking on Soccer Africa on SuperSport TV, Magwizi said: “The process of appointing a coach is at an advanced stage. I think by Monday or Tuesday next week, we should be in a position to make an announcement.”

He added that the ZIFA technical committee is finalising a shortlist of candidates: “The technical committee is finalising a shortlist of candidates, and I’m confident that next week we will announce a new coach to lead our boys.”

ZIFA are currently searching for a new head coach following the dismissal of Michael Nees last week after a string of poor results.

Nees was sacked just over a year into his tenure.
