LUTON – Luton Town head coach Jack Wilshere says Zimbabwe Warriors captain Marvelous Nakamba “can help us” win matches as the 2025/26 League One season progresses.
Wilshere has backed the former Aston Villa midfielder, who is working his way back to full fitness after a serious knee injury kept him sidelined for much of last season.

Speaking to Luton Today, the former Arsenal star expressed his admiration for Nakamba’s attitude and quality.
“I like Marv (Nakamba),” Wilshere said. “I had to understand a little bit what was going on when I came in because he obviously hasn’t played.
“He played a couple of games for his national team [in the final World Cup qualifiers], which I think was good for him. He came back and he’s been training well.
“He’s been hungry, really humble, and I love his character. As you saw tonight, he can win duels, keeps it simple, and he’s played at a high level.
“So hopefully we can get him a little bit fitter, get him a few more games, and he can help us.”
Nakamba started in Luton’s 2–1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion U21s in the Vertu Motors Trophy group stage on Tuesday, impressing with a composed display in midfield.
