HARARE – In our previous article published on 16 October, we reported that Black Panther actress Danai Gurira was in the country scouting for raw talent.

Yes, Gurira is currently in Zimbabwe and has done several radio interviews explaining her presence for the first ‘African Voices Now Festival’.

Though the actress spoke extensively on the importance of African artists to export their talent to the world, Phil Chard, the festival’s publicist, clarified the misinterpretation to Nehanda Radio.

“Danai isn’t in Zim to scout for talent. She’s in Zim to put together the first African Voices Now Festival, which features 3 plays that have been developed over the last few years,” said Phil.

The festival will be held in Harare from 18 October to 7 November 2025.
