HARARE – Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) board member for development, Brighton ‘Pan Jap’ Ushendibaba, on Saturday hosted a football tournament in Harare under the theme “Say No to Drugs” as part of efforts to combat the rising scourge of drug abuse in the country.
The 10-team tournament, organised by Pan Jap Motors in partnership with Restore Life Rehabilitation, doubled as a Drug Awareness Campaign.
Restore Life provided counselling and conducted drug tests during the event.

Speaking after the tournament, Ushendibaba, a car dealer and youthful businessman, expressed his delight at the huge turnout.
“I’m happy you came in your numbers. The purpose of this tournament was to spread the word to the whole country at large that we are saying ‘No to Drugs’. It was an anti-drugs campaign.
“Drugs have destroyed lives in many communities and ended careers of people with great potential.
“As a ZIFA board member, I saw it fit that through Pan Jap Motors, we host this football tournament as a Drug Awareness Campaign,” he said.
The event attracted several familiar faces from the football fraternity.
These include Scottland FC coach Tonderai Ndiraya, club captain Walter Musona, Knowledge Musona, Peter Muduhwa, Vassili Kawe and others.
