HARARE – Podcaster Owen Madondo better known as DJ Ollah 7 has responded to the ongoing comparison topic being peddled against him and seasoned broadcaster Oscar Pambuka on social media saying “It’s not fair to compare Ronaldo and Yamal.”
Posting on his social media pages, Dj Ollah 7 expressed how much he didn’t want to be drawn into such comparisons as they often aim to destroy instead of building and uniting the industry.
In a long X post Ollah wrote, “I’ve seen the comparison between me and Oscar on different platforms. I didn’t want to respond to this but I think let me give my thought and put this matter to rest.
“Oscar is my brother in the industry not my rival nor opponent. I have so much respect for him.”
The former Star FM presenter went on to acknowledge that despite facing personal challenges which might have had an impact on Pambuka’s career, the latter remains his senior in the industry and a force to be reckoned with.
“My brother has faced so many challenges along the way and that doesn’t make him my junior in the game, he remains my senior and he paved the way,” wrote Ollah.
He added,”I have my strength and weakness, same with him as well. I believe we’re all good in what we do, no need for comparison because we do things differently. It’s not fair to compare Ronaldo and Yamal.”
Ollah mentioned that he grew up following Pambuka’s Melting Pot program back in 2007 and he remained a fan of his work till he joined the media industry in 2012.
Currently both journalists lost their jobs in mainstream media but it is no doubt that they are both doing well in their respective fields.
Dj Ollah 7 is building a podcast network which has gained a significant following in the country, whilst Pambuka has joined Plot Mhako’s EarGround TV as a presenter.
