CHITUNGWIZA – Outspoken opposition leader Job Sikhala has offered US$20 000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of unidentified assailants who bombed his house with his children inside last weekend.
Sikhala, who leads the pressure group National Democratic Working Group, said the money would be raised by his supporters in the diaspora and the whistleblowers would be kept confidential.
“After inspecting the devastating damage done on my house and my properties through the terrorist attack done on the morning hours of Saturday 30th August 2025 in my absence when I was in SA for the launch of my Biography book Footprints in the Chains: The Life Story of Job Sikhala, a reward of US$20 000 raised by our international friends and the diaspora is availed to anyone who will provide the information leading to the identity of the perpetrators of this heinous crime who wanted to kill my children.
“The identity of the whistle blower will be kept in utmost confidentiality. Please DM or WhatsApp on +263773756658,” Sikhala wrote.
In July this year a group of suspected ZANU PF youths violently disrupted the launch of Sikhala’s book in Masvingo despite earlier launches in Harare and Bulawayo proceeding without incident.
In a video shared by Sikhala, a visibly agitated mob, some appearing drunk, stormed the venue, attacked one of the speakers, and began hurling chairs. One man who attempted to intervene was manhandled in the scuffle.
The book, Footprints in the Chains, authored by Munyaradzi Angelo Savanhu, chronicles Sikhala’s journey as a political activist, detailing his experiences with over 70 arrests, instances of torture, and repeated detentions.
