FC Platinum GM Denzil Mkandla bids farewell, joins Highlanders as new CEO

BULAWAYO – FC Platinum General Manager Denzil Mkandla has officially bid farewell to the club as he prepares to take on a new role as the substantive Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Highlanders.

Mkandla was recently announced as Bosso’s new CEO after successfully going through the interview process.

He takes over from Brian Moyo, whose brief tenure ended following his resignation in the wake of a scandal related to player transfer fees.

In his farewell message, Mkandla expressed deep gratitude to the FC Platinum community:

“Dear FC Platinum Family, After nine remarkable years with this great institution, the time has come for me to bid farewell.

“It is with a mix of pride, gratitude, and a touch of sadness that I announce my departure from FC Platinum.

“This club has been more than just a workplace, it has been a home, a family, and a place where I have grown both professionally and personally.

“I joined FC Platinum with hopes and dreams, and I leave with treasured memories, deep friendships, and immense respect for the people I have worked alongside.

“Over the years, I have had the privilege of witnessing and contributing to our shared successes, overcoming challenges, and building something truly special. I am deeply thankful for the trust, support, and collaboration that I’ve experienced throughout my time here.

“I owe a special thank you to the Presidium, Executive, players, technical teams, stadium staff, supporters, the Zvishavane community and every individual who has been part of my journey at the club.”

He added: “Although I am moving on to pursue a new opportunity, FC Platinum will always hold a special place in my heart. The lessons I’ve learned here and the bonds we’ve formed will stay with me forever.

“As I turn this page, I carry with me the spirit of Pure Platinum Play, The African Dream, and the pride of having been part of such a distinguished organisation. I will continue to support the club from afar and follow its progress with great interest.

“Thank you, once again, for the incredible journey. With sincere gratitude, best wishes for the future and warmest regards.”

Mkandla is set to begin his tenure at Highlanders on August 1.
