HARARE – The Zimbabwe Olympic Committee (ZOC) presidential elections are scheduled for 27 April in Harare.
On Monday, the ZOC Nominations and Elections Committee released the list of eligible candidates along with the voters’ roll.
Key positions up for election include: President, Two Vice Presidents, Treasurer, Seven Board Members and Five Legal Practitioners for the ZOC Disciplinary Committee.
Incumbent president Thabani Gonye, who took office in 2021, is seeking a second four-year term.
Speaking to Zimpapers Sports Hub, Gonye expressed confidence in his leadership:
“When I look at my presidency, my first term, my four years, there has been progression.
“There are things that we can all look up to and say, is there change in terms of where we are going?
“Certainly, I believe that is the answer, that we are going somewhere,” said Gonye.
Meanwhile, former Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) acting CEO Xolisani Gwesela, is contesting for both the Vice President and Board Member roles.
