Popular Zimbabwean hip-hop musician Mukudzei Chitsama, widely known as Holy Ten, has appeared before a Harare magistrate following his arrest on grave charges involving the violent rape of a 14-year-old girl.

Prosecutors detailed a horrifying ordeal at a guest house in Hatfield, where the victim was allegedly held against her will, threatened with murder, and assaulted while restrained by four accomplices.

The court heard that the incident began on July 20, when the schoolgirl and her friend encountered the 27-year-old artist during a music video shoot at the Avondale Shopping Centre.

When the victim’s friend departed at around 6pm, Chitsama remained with the minor and subsequently transported her to a residential property operating as a bed and breakfast in Hatfield.

Upon arrival, the teenager observed a large gathering composed entirely of adult men.

State prosecutors outlined how Chitsama then led the girl into a private room, locking the door behind them. Inside, the musician allegedly threatened to murder the minor if she resisted his advances.

Shortly after forcing her onto a bed, four unidentified men entered the locked room to participate in the assault.

The prosecution stated that two men pinned down the victim’s hands while the other two held her legs, enabling Chitsama to rape the helpless teenager without a condom.

Following the assault, the musician allegedly instructed one of his associates to secure transport to take the victim back to Avondale. She returned home to her aunt and initially concealed the attack out of fear.

Shortly afterwards, the girl broke down and recounted the harrowing experience to her guardian.

A formal report was promptly made at a local police station, leading to Chitsama’s immediate arrest. Law enforcement authorities in Harare have launched a manhunt for the four unidentified accomplices who remain at large.

The case against the Glendale-born artist continues as police proceed with their investigations.

Holy Ten who is represented by lawyer Admire Rubaya was granted US$500 bail on Tuesday during an appearance before Harare magistrate Jesse Kufa.

The controversial rapper has also attracted widespread public attention in recent years through a series of high-profile disputes involving preacher Uebert Angel and Collins Mnangagwa, the son of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
