Afron Nation: Davido returns to the beach in 2025, joining Burna Boy and Tems to headline the LIT Stage

Portimão, PORTUGAL – Afro Nation, the global movement celebrating African music and culture, is set to host a landmark fifth-anniversary festival as more big names join the impressive line-up today.

Taking place on Praia da Rocha’s golden sands in Portimão, the growing international community unites again between 9-11th July for an unforgettable celebration of music, fashion, food, and dance.

Joining previously announced headliners Burna Boy and Tems, the one and only Davido is confirmed to headline the LIT Stage. Plus, the likes Booba, Dexta Daps, Joé Dwèt Filé, Ronisia, Felo Le Tee, LeeMcKrazy, Scotts Maphuma and The Therapist are also confirmed today.

Afro Nation’s star-studded line up spans the most influential Afrobeats and Amapiano trailblazers as well as the most exciting new names and stands as the definitive moment for the culture every summer.

No stranger to the Afro Nation main stage, undisputed Afrobeats titan Davido returns to deliver another timeless performance.

Serving up the hits that have defined the genre time and time again, from ‘Fall’ to ‘Unavailable’ and with a highly anticipated new album ‘5ive’ on the way, Davido’s impact on mainstream pop culture around the world is undeniable.

Marking this amazing evolution since first headlining the festival’s debut event in 2019, Davido will step straight from London’s 80,000 capacity Tottenham Stadium on 3rd July to the beach in Portugal between 9-11th July, for a crowning moment of the summer. 

Speaking about his return to the beach this summer, Davido said: “Afro Nation 2025ive, let’s goooo!

It’s always love when we come together to celebrate our culture, our sound, and our energy. I can’t wait to shut it down with my people—get ready for an unforgettable night! Baddest!”

French rap legend Booba, a pivotal figure in European hip-hop, is also back on the Afro Nation Portugal line up.

Known for his influential career spanning over two decades and pioneering the French rap scene, Booba will deliver an electrifying performance that showcases his distinctive flow and genre-defining hits such as ‘92i Veyron’, ‘Scarface’, and ‘Mona Lisa’.

Le “Duc de Boulogne” continues to cement his status as one of the most impactful rap artists in France and beyond, promising another unforgettable moment at this year’s festival.

Also adding more Caribbean star power is the magnetic Dexta Daps, Jamaica’s soulful dancehall maestro, whose hits like ‘Shabba Madda Pot’ and ‘Breaking News’ guarantee a crowd-moving set.

Elsewhere more Francophone talent joins the bill with Haitian singer Joé Dwèt Filé and Cape Verdean R&B artist Ronisia complimenting the diverse and vibrant line up.

Known as the international jumping off point for South Africa’s eminent electronic scene and the home of Europe’s ultimate groove, the Piano People stage expands again with more names today.

Joining headliners Uncle Waffles, Scorpion Kings and DBN Gogo is one of South Africa’s ​​top producers and DJs Felo Le Tee. Felo Le Tee is renowned for his amapiano hits ‘66’ and ‘Midnight Prayer’ which took the scene by storm.

Amapiano sensation LeeMckrazy, renowned for his iconic intro ‘Bare Ke LeeMcke’ and his unstoppable run of hits will be joined for a special back-to-back set with Scotts Maphuma, the voice behind 2024 chart-toppers ‘Yebo Lapho’ with Felo Le Tee and ‘Wishi Wishi’ by DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small, and Vigro Deep.

For three days between 9-11th July, the Piano People stage will deliver even more unmissable moments than ever before, firmly bringing the South African groove to the Algarve and beyond.

The Malachite Group (TMG) said: “With every new edition of Afro Nation we look to capture the magic of the moment, bringing fresh faces to our two main stages alongside all the favourites that make this beautiful movement what it is. Our 5th anniversary will be a massive celebration, packed with surprises and not-to-be-missed events. We can’t wait to bring the community together again on the beach… Together we move!”

Since 2019, Afro Nation has grown beyond a festival to become a global movement, bridging communities worldwide. With unforgettable events across three continents, Afro Nation has set a new standard in live entertainment, uniting fans from over 160 countries to celebrate the culture.

As the momentous 5th year anniversary draws near, Afro Nation Portugal continues to champion the influence of African music on a global stage.
