SOUTH AFRICA – Legendary South African musician Chicco Twala has claimed that singer Kelly Khumalo, his son Longwe Twala and others who were in the house know who killed the former Orlando Pirates star Senzo Meyiwa.
Chico recently made the headlines after he got Longwe arrested, claiming he had been stealing from him to feed his drug addiction.
The music legend said at the time it would be better if his son served time in jail, as roaming the streets meant his continued use of harmful substances.
Longwe was present when the then Bafana Bafana captain Meyiwa was shot and killed at the home of his then girlfriend, singer Kelly Khumalo, in Vosloorus east of Johannesburg.
In an interview on Mashabela on the King David Studio podcast, Twala expressed frustration at being continually linked to the murder, as he believed that the people in the house knew who perpetrated the crime.
“I don’t know who killed Senzo,” said Twala. “How would I know? I was not there. My son will know who killed Senzo, Kelly Khumalo will know who killed Senzo, all the people in the house will know who killed Senzo.”
Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa and Sifisokuhle Nkani Ntuli are standing trial for the murder of the Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana footballer.
