With just seven matches remaining in the 2024 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season, the race for the coveted golden boot award is intensifying.

The league’s marquee signing, Khama Billiat, continued with his impressive form yesterday, scoring the only goal of the match in Yadah’s 1-0 victory over Herentals at the Heart Stadium.

It was Billiat’s 11th goal of the season and it propelled him to the top of the goal scoring chart, joining CAPS United striker William Manondo.

Manondo who led the chart with 11 goals, was unable to find the net as Makepekepe lost 2-0 to Hwange.

Highlanders talisman Lynoth Chikuhwa was one of the scorers when Bosso eased past city rivals Arenel Movers with a 2-0 win at Barbourfields Stadium.

With the goal, Chikuhwa also joined the race for the PSL golden boot.

As it stands, the trio of Billiat, Manondo and Chikuhwa is in contention for the prestigious individual award.

Hot on the trio’s heels is the Simba Bhora pair of Tymon Machope and Walter Musona.

Machope is on 10 goals while Musona has hit the net nine times this season.
