SHAMVA – Goals in both halves by Ishmael Nynahi and Mthokozisi Msebe respectively were enough for current log leaders Simba Bhora to consolidate their position at the summit after beating Chegutu Pirates 2-0.
Going into the match, Simba were were leading the pack by seven points.
As it stands, they are now nine points clear of second placed FC Platinum who drew 1-1 against Green Fuel.
Simba are closer to make history in the Zimbabwe football, taking the league title to Shamva for the first time ever.
The league is about to come to an end with seven games left.
Elsewhere, Highlanders defeated city rivals and relegation candidates Arenel Movers 2-0 thanks to goals from Lynoth Chikuhwa and second half substitute Gillian Nyathi.
Other relegation candidates, Telone thumped Bikita Minerals 6-1 and Hwange who are also in the relegation zone beat CAPS United 2-0.
Manica Diamonds were defeated 1-0 at home by ZPC Kariba while Bulawayo Chiefs held 2023 champions Ngezi Platinum to a 1-1 draw.
Warriors star Khama Billiat scored the only goal of the match helping Yadah to a 1-0 victory over rivals Herentals.
