Dynamos to play Botswana’s Orapa United in CAF Confederation Cup

HARARE – Following their triumphant return to continental competitions after a 10-year absence, Harare giants Dynamos booked themselves a place in the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Glamour Boys will now square off Orapa United of Botswana in the Second Preliminary Round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

This is after they knocked out Zambian giants Zesco United this past weekend, beating them 1-0 on aggregate.

The second leg played at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Zambia, ended 0-0 with the Glamour Boys having won the reverse fixture 1-0 thanks to Tanaka Shandirwa’s goal.

Orapa United progressed after beating Foresters FC of Seychelles 3-1 on aggregate in the two legged tie.

The first leg of the clash pitting Orapa United and Dynamos will be played at the weekend of 13-15 September while the return leg is scheduled a week later.

DeMbare are yet to secure a venue for the second leg of the fixture as they are skeptical to host Orapa United in Botswana where they hosted Zesco.

They are contemplating to move the fixture to Zambia to ensure they don’t give Orapa United an advantage by hosting them in their home country.

It comes after Zimbabwe currently has no CAF certified stadium to host any international matches.
