Manchester United sign Zimbabwean teenager Camron Mpofu from Reading

Premier League giants Manchester United have finally signed 15-year old Camron Mpofu of Zimbabwean descent for their U-16s from Reading FC.

The promising youngster who was born in Kirkcaldy, Scotland had been linked with the Red Devils since May.

He confirmed his move to United on Instagram.

“I’m proud to officially announce my signing for Manchester United,” Mpofu posted.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me on this journey so far, especially my family, the coaches and staff at Reading FC. The hard work continues.”

Mpofu joins United after spending three years at Reading.

The highly-rated youngster striker once represented England in their youth sides but recently switched to Scotland.

He was called up by the Three Lions for a training camp earlier in the year.

However, in April, he made his debut for Scotland U-15s against Spain and Hong Kong.

Mpofu is born to a Zimbabwean father and a Scottish mother.

He is eligible to play for either Scotland or the Zimbabwe national team in the future.
