He confirmed his move to United on Instagram.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me on this journey so far, especially my family, the coaches and staff at Reading FC. The hard work continues.”

Mpofu joins United after spending three years at Reading.

The highly-rated youngster striker once represented England in their youth sides but recently switched to Scotland.

He was called up by the Three Lions for a training camp earlier in the year.

However, in April, he made his debut for Scotland U-15s against Spain and Hong Kong.
