Zimbabwe Warriors and FC Nantes striker Tino Kadewere has thrown his support behind Prophet Walter Magaya as a potential candidate in the next Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) presidential elections.
Kadewere believes the Yadah FC owner deserves to lead the country’s football mother body following his recent works of building the Heart Stadium.
“I have played for a number of clubs and what I saw at the Heart Stadium is exceptionally excellent.
“Ndatoseka zvangu Yadah players nekuda kwe position yavari palog ivo vaine mafacilities akadaiso.
“They are supposed to be motivated more than any other players and Prophet Magaya is proving himself to be the best in terms of promoting and building football.
“The dressing rooms and the medical room, ungati watove kuEngland and I feel like putting on my jersey to play.
“No wonder why some footballers are suggesting him for the ZIFA president. He deserves it,” he told the State owned H-Metro tabloid.
Kadewere’s sentiments come after he visited the 5 000 capacity stadium which is located at Magaya’s hotel in Waterfalls.
The stadium that was commissioned by President Emmerson Mnangagwa in December 2023, is currently being used by Yadah FC as its home ground in the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Magaya announced the opening of another stadium in Maputo, Mozambique.
The new sporting facility is called the Heart Stadium 2.
