Warriors skipper Marvelous Nakamba ‘captains’ local support with kit donation
BULAWAYO – Zimbabwe Warriors captain Marvelous Nakamba has continued to show his commitment to football in Zimbabwe and giving back to the community.
This comes after the Luton Town FC star midfielder through his Marvelous Nakamba Foundation (MNF) on Wednesday, donated four sets of kits and a set of footballs to Njube Spurs.
Njube Spurs FC are a local club based in Njube, Bulawayo where Nakamba grew up before he completed his first European move to the Netherlands in 2014.

Nakamba donated kits for all the club’s age groups in U-11s, U-12s, U-15s as well as the U-17s who are the seniors.
Speaking at the event held in Njube at the Desert Stadium, Marvelous’ father Antony Nakamba implored parents to support their kids in sport.
“I urge you (parents) all to support these boys to fulfill their dreams. They are talented and without support they can’t make it to the top.
“Marvelous grew up here in Njube and football has changed his life. We sat down with him and agreed to donate a set of kits and balls to Njube Spurs FC.
“I hope this donation will help the club going forward,” said the MNF Chairman.
“It is my wish to see other boys from this generation making it in life through football.”

Expressing his gratitude for the donation, Njube Spurs FC Chairperson Trust ‘Koffie’ Chizunza said:
“On behalf of the club, I would like to thank Marvelous Nakamba for this gesture. I would also like to extend my gratitude to Mr Antony Nakamba who is the MNF Chairman for allowing his boy to give back to the community.”

Through MNF in partnership with World Vision, Nakamba recently hosted a four schools soccer tournament in his rural Hwange to fight drug abuse.
The charity organisation was established in 2019 meant to assist those in need, improve lives and seek to help underprivileged communities through the power of sport.
