Khama Billiat at risk of losing his house in Midrand over unpaid bond debt

Yadah FC’s marquee signing Khama Billiat is reportedly at risk of losing his house located in Midrand in Johannesburg, South Africa (SA).

Reports by City Press from SA, suggest Billiat is being dragged to court by a creditor who claims the superstar has allegedly “failed to keep up with the payment of the bond agreement”.

Wrote the City Press: “An entity known as Emerging Markets Home Loans applied to the Pretoria High Court for an eviction order against five occupants, who have been staying in the house since Billiat’s departure to join Zimbabwean outfit Yadah FC.

“The financial institution filed a notice of motion on 5 May, citing that the occupants were unlawfully living at the premises, even though the house was allegedly due to be auctioned in June.”

The lawyer(s) representing Emerging Markets Home Loans, Jillian Pedro, confirmed to the publication that indeed the eviction order was applied.

However, she remained coy: “I am the attorney of record in the matter. It’s still an ongoing process, therefore, I cannot say much about it,” she said.

It is said Billiat has allegedly not been paying monthly installments for the Midlands property.

Resultantly, this has “prompted the finance service provider to put the house on auction in an attempt to recoup the R1.7 million loan,” said the sheriff who asked not to be identified.

Billiat signed for Yadah as a free agent for US$20,000 in February after leaving Kaizer Chiefs in June 2023.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Ajax Cape Town City talisman penned a one year deal with the Miracle Boys

As part of his signing on package, the 33-year old was given a flat in uptown Harare and a Land Rover Defender vehicle.
