Former Zimbabwe Warriors prolific striker Nyasha Mushekwi has continued with his scoring form in the Chinese League One where he is with Yunnan Yukun FC.

The 36-year-old who joined Yukun FC in March after parting ways with Chinese Super League side Zhejiang, scored at the weekend in their 1-1 stalemate with Chongqing Tonglianglong at home.

Mushekwi added to his season tally to make it six goals in seven games in the 2024 Chinese League One season.

The ex-CAPS United striker is currently the leading top goal scorer two goals ahead of Raphael Messi Bouli and Shijiazhuang Gongfu who are jointly second placed with four goals apiece.

Mushekwi will be hoping to carry his scoring boots when they visit Guangxi Pingguo Haliao on Wednesday.

The match is a game in hand as other clubs have each played eight matches.

If Yukun FC win, they could go on top of the log table on goal difference.

They are currently on second position with 17 points, three behind log leaders Dalian Yingbo who have 20 points but played more (eight) matches.

Yukun got promoted to the second tier league this season from League Two.

The team is probably eyeing a quick top flight promotion and this is evident by the roping in of stars such as Mushekwi.
