Rev Obadiah Musindo pays lobola for 23-year old bride Aysha Tagara

HARARE – Wedding bells are ringing for Destiny for Africa Network leader Obadiah Musindo and his 23-year-old sweetheart Aysha Tagara, after he confirmed that he had paid lobola recently.

Musindo came under criticism last year after the couple’s engagement was confirmed, with some expressing concern at the age gap between them.

While Musindo claims he is 53, others said the man of god is over 70.

In an interview with H-Metro, Musindo confirmed that a lobola ceremony had taken place, while a white wedding is planned for later this year. Musindo also said his actual age would be confirmed by the marriage certificate.

“Yes, I paid lobola according to custom and I have plans for a massive, historic wedding before end of this year,” said Rev Musindo.

“For those who wanted to know my exact age, a wedding certificate will not lie. Every detail will be taken from our birth certificates. What is important to me is that we love each other and we have settled,” he said.

When news of their relationship broke at the end of last year, Musindo was at pains to point out that he and Tagara were in love.

“I engaged. In other words, we engaged with my sweetheart. A 22-year-old, mature, responsible, God-fearing, intelligent, smart and beautiful young girl who is going to be Mai Musindo and many people shall see her.

“She is going to be my life partner. We are marrying in 2024. We are going to have one of the best, big, unique wedding in Harare and many people will be invited and many journalists will also be invited.

“It will be a special wedding because I’m going to use my wedding and my marriage as an example of what a marriage should be according to the word of God. I was a divorcee since 2010 and I have been waiting for my children to grow up and begin to understand issues.

“For your information, my kids are in love with my wife-to-be. They are friends. She has a good heart like me. She is a giver. She is generous,” he said.
