MUTARE – Manica Diamonds’ new acquisition Kudakwashe Mahachi has revealed the reason why he joined the Mutare based club saying he completed the move “in my search for peace of mind not money”.
Mahachi who joined Manica Diamonds as a free agent for US$20,000, was reportedly on giants Dynamos and Yadah FC’s radar.
However, he chose Manica Diamonds, signing a two-year deal with the Jairos Tapera coached side.
In an interview with Manica Post, the 30-year-old winger outlined why he opted for the Gem Boys over the Glamour Boys or Miracle Boys respectively.
“I’m very happy to be here (Manica Diamonds). This move is my search for peace of mind,” revealed Mahachi.
The Mzilikazi born attacker added: “I desperately wanted to get out of Bulawayo, and I’m happy that I finally did. I’m looking forward to an exciting season in Mutare.
“I just need peace of mind more than anything else. This move is not really about the money, but I feel I will get that peace of mind while playing football here in Mutare.”
Mahachi’s career suffered a huge blow due to allegations of child abuse and attempted murder of his son.
The ex-Chicken Inn and Bantu Rovers player was acquitted of the charges.
He then signed for Ghanaian reigning champions Medeama SC, but was released by the club after five months over fitness concerns.

Lovely stuff.
