Former Zimbabwe Warriors winger Kuda Mahachi has returned to Zimbabwean football, signing a two-year deal with Manica Diamonds.
The 30-year-old joins the Mutare-based side as a free agent after his release by Ghanaian club Medeama SC.
Mahachi’s move comes as a surprise, as he was heavily linked with Harare giants Dynamos.
Last week, reports suggested he had agreed terms with the Glamour Boys.
“Kuda has agreed terms with Dynamos. He is expected in Harare any day this week to seal the deal,” said a source.
However, the former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder opted for Manica Diamonds.
His move to the Gem Boys marks the second biggest transfer in the Premier Soccer League within a week.
This comes after Yadah signed highly rated Khama Billiat who has been without a club since last year June after parting ways with Kaizer Chiefs.
Billiat who is set to be the highest paid player in the domestic league, earning US$3 500, will be officially unveiled by the Miracle Boys on Thursday.
Both Mahachi and Billiat, formerly with renowned clubs in South Africa’s DStv Premiership, will be hoping to reignite their careers after a difficult period.
