Embattled Mashoko High head transferred

Mashoko High head, Trainos Mbwirire who is facing corruption allegations following demonstrations at the school last month has been transferred to Mpandawana High in the same capacity.

However, The Mirror understands that parents at the populous school are already up in arms with the head who is also Zanu PF secretary for business development and liaison in Bikita district.

Both Bikita District Schools Inpsector James Mahofa and Samuel Mahwehwe who is the education secretary for Christian Schools confirmed the transfer to The Mirror.
Mpandawana High School Development Committee chair could not be reached for comment at thee time of going to press.
Davie Gungubu of Chiredzi Christain High is going to take over at Mashoko.

The Mirror has a memo written by Mahwehwe dated November 15, 2021 in its hands that announces the transfer to parents.
“This minute serves to give a correct and official position of the current situation at Mashoko High School following the disturbances on October 21, 2021.

“The board of Mashoko Christian Schools being the Responsible Authority (RA) wishes to inform concerned stakeholders that: Mr Trainos Mbwirire has since voluntarily transferred from the school to Mpandawana High School in Gutu, and therefore ceases to be the head of Mashoko.

“Mr Davie Gungubu has been requested by the RA to transfer from Chiredzi Christian School to Mashoko High School as head and is currently processing the transfer with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.
“The water situation at the school is being addressed and 3 x 5000-litre plastic water storage tanks have been delivered to the school by the RA. The RA is currently working with the Ministry to bring the situation at Mashoko to normalcy through dialogue with different stakeholders,” reads the memo
