Khama Billiat’s last gasp equaliser rescues Yadah from defeat to Platinum

HARARE – Former Kaizer Chiefs star Khama Billiat’s stoppage time goal coming from a red card suspension, helped Yadah FC salvage a 1-1 draw against FC Platinum in a mid week fixture that was played at The Heart Stadium on Wednesday.

The 33-year-old winger pulled a well struck hard and low shot from outside the box, beating a full stretching FC Platinum goalkeeper David ‘Rambo’ Bizabani.

Billiat’s goal right at the death of the match (90+1 minutes) sent Yadah FC fans into a frenzy as the game seemed to be heading FC Platinum’s way after the fourth official had raised five minutes of stoppage time.

The platinum miners who moved up the log table due to a better goal difference but are tied on 25 points with Manica Diamonds who are playing Highlanders today, took the lead in the 77th minute through in form midfielder Juan Mutadza.

Mutudza’s goal that could have helped Platinum secure their third win on the trot and their first win over Yadah in their last three outings was cancelled by Billiat.

Billiat forced a 1-1 draw, scoring his third goal at the recently built 5,000-capacitor The Heart Stadium having previously grabbed a brace when they beat Chicken Inn 2-1 recently.

The former Zimbabwe national team and Mamelodi Sundowns star added his season’s tally to four goals.

He is now two goals away from the Premier Soccer League (PSL) leading top scorers Lynoth Chikuwa (Highlanders) and Never Rauzhi (Bulawayo Chiefs) who are both tied on six goals apiece.
