Chivaviros double launch tonight

All is set for the double album launch for award-winning gospel musician Reverend Togarepi Chivaviro and his wife Juliet tonight at New Ambassador Hotel.

Mai Chivaviro will be launching her solo album titled “Perseverance”, while her husband unveils a new release titled “Excellence”.

In an interview, Rev Chivaviro said everything was in place and urged fans grace the event.

“We are so much excited about the two albums that we are unveiling tomorrow (today) because they are special. We are just encouraging our fans to come in their numbers and enjoy themselves. We are going to be distributing free copies of the CD to those that have bought tickets,”he said.

He added that the dress code for the event is African in honour of the late legendary Oliver Mtukudzi.

“Our dress theme for the event is African. This will be in honour of my late musical father Tuku and I have just completed a song ‘Tinyaradzei’, which comforts everyone who has lost a love one,” said Rev Chivaviro.

Mai Chivaviro’s album carries eight tracks among them collaborative tracks with wives of some prominent musicians.

“Topemberera” is a song that features Bethany Pasinawako-Ngolomi and Suzan Mhere, while “Pindai Jesu” is a collaboration with Daisy Mtukudzi and Mai Manyeruke.

Rev Chivaviro features on the hymn song “Chokwadi Zita RaJesu”.

The new offering from the “Ebenezer” hit-maker contains six tracks.

Among the songs is the title track, “Hamupererwe”, “Tora Zita Rake”, “Tinyaradzei” and “Mufudzi Ndiye Jeovha”.

The gospel couple has partnered with Zimpapers who will be selling both CDs at $2 across the country. Zimpapers newspaper vendors will have the CDs at their sites.

Rev Chivaviro also said the launch will be an opportunity to celebrate his songs that won prizes last year in the Coca Cola Top 50. The Herald
