Ubuntu Cape Town sign Zimbabwean attacker Bukhosi Sibanda

Ubuntu Cape Town FC have signed Zimbabwean attacking midfielder Bukhosi Sibanda.

Having already netted 10 goals in the first 16 games back home with Bantu Rovers in the Caste Lager Premier Soccer League, Sibanda joins the squad during the pre-season training as the club looks to put together its team for the 2017/18 NFD season.

Sibanda has already met up with his team-mates and started training, with Ubuntu chairman Michael Jenkins expecting much of the 20-year-old.

“We are tremendously excited about the quality that Bukhosi brings to our squad,” said Jenkins, whose club also recently signed Ethen Sampson.

“He is a young player who already is at a very high level, but with huge potential to get even better.”

Coach Roger Links is excited to see the young attacker on the pitch and hopes he’ll grow under the experienced players in the squad.

“I believe we have signed one of Zimbabwe’s top young talents,” said the coach.

“We have secured a player who will bring pace, creativity and goals to the team. While our time together has been limited, Bukhosi has already brought a vibrant energy to the group.

“He is a confident and intelligent young man and I believe he will develop even more during his time at Ubuntu Cape Town.”

Sibanda told the club’s website why he left his home in Zimbabwe to sign for the new Cape Town side.

“With the few days I have been here, the professionalism of the club has proved to me that I’m on the right track and being led by the right people to achieve the club’s and my goals,” he said.

“I’m really glad and happy to be joining Ubuntu Cape Town. It’s a great honour for me because it’s a new experience and I’m ready to work for the team. I’m grateful for the opportunity given to me by the club.” Kickoff
