On the controversial song, off his latest six-track album Zvirikunakira Mukati that was launched on Monday at City Sports Bar in the capital, Mutani pokes fun at Gumbura for his insatiable lust for women.

Sings Mutani: “Vakadzi vakawanda kudarika varume, tichida vose varoorwe toti one as to chii… Mudhara wangu VaGumbura said one as to 10 zvichienda mberi (Women are more than men, so which ratio to use if we want to create an equilibrium…Gumbura answered one man to 10 women).

Songs making the album include Mapinda Muchirongwa; Zviri kunakira Mukati; Ndakakutarisai; Tsvina; Amanda and Mazhanje.

Previously, the youthful Sungano Express frontman has mocked Gumbura on the track Musagumbura Madzimai (Half Man Half Spirit).

“It is our duty as artistes to address societal ills through music and to be frank, what Gumbura did to women who are regarded as vulnerable members of the society is not right considering that he was using the name of God to deceive church members,” he said.

Over the years, Mutani poked a number of popular figures, including Energy Mutodi, a move interpreted as meant to gain attention. However, Mutani is not the first artiste to mock the popular jailed rapist as Jah Prayzah also mocks him on the song Chinamira off his blockbuster album Jerusarema.

Gumbura was jailed for 40 years following his conviction on four counts of rape and contravening the Censorship Act after he was found in possessing pornographic material at his home in 2014.

Mutani took advantage of the big crowd at the joint’s popular weekly event, Jam Session, to unveil his 10th album and the event was graced by acts such as Allan Chimbetu, Ngosimbi Crew, Ras Caleb, Donald Kanyuchi, Bitumba and Musique D’ Afrique, Chirandu, Sugar Sugar, Mannex and Sista Fay among others.

The album was auctioned at $1 100. Daily News
