CAPS United coach Lloyd Chitembwe says they cannot expect to win all the matches since the Castle Lager Premiership race is a marathon where it’s inevitable that teams will drop points along the way.

The Green Machine missed a chance to go top of the Premiership table in a weekend when leaders FC Platinum crashed to their first league defeat in more than a year after CAPS United were held to a goalless draw at the National Sports Stadium.

Chitembwe said he will not lose sleep after his men fired blanks, pointing to the fact that the Green Machine had actually gained a point on FC Platinum.

“We can’t win all games and we really need to be very sensible and I thought the performance was very good and we will still drop points but what is more important for us at this stage is we are still with the leading pack and I think that is very critical.

“The performance was decent, yeah we got a 0-0 draw but like I predicated earlier on before the match that it was going to be a very difficult game of football.

“Technically, and tactically, it was never easy and both teams didn’t give away the spaces and we are content with the result we got.”

CAPS United were without Hardlife Zvirekwi and Ronald Pfumbidzai who are away in Namibia for the COSAFA tournament.

“It is not about individuals, it is all about the team and I thought we chose the right team for the occasion and we are happy with the contribution and input of those who played today,” said Chitembwe.

Triangle coach Mandigora was happy with another point gained on the road. The last time Triangle were in Harare, Mandigora and his men were rewarded as they shared spoils with record league-championship winners Dynamos at Rufaro.
